The XP ORX can be assembled and disassembled in seconds using quick-release fasteners. The S-shape of the boom makes swiveling particularly easy. Ultralight and robust - the new S-telescopic linkage LITE. The HF coil technology detects stably even on floors that are difficult to detect and almost trouble-free even under high-voltage lines. The fast response times guarantee the optimal separation of finds in the case of soils contaminated with iron, as are often found in old settlement areas, and offer correspondingly high find rates - even where other detectors exit.

The small parts sensitivity on targets such as coins / relics / gold also convince the professional viewfinder. With its sensational 770g, the ORX is a lightweight and currently the lightest detector on the detector market! Thanks to its struts on the upper part of the frame and the middle frame made of aviation high-tech aluminum, the ORX is also extremely robust. The user interface looks very tidy, is clearly and logically arranged so that it can be operated almost instinctively. The developers of this excellent detector focused on simple operation, high search performance and the unique, low weight. The new XP detector ORX takes over some of the core parts of its big brother, the XP Deus, and comes with a new user interface. I don’t know the guy personally but you can really learn a lot from his videos.XP ORX with 22.5cm double-D high-frequency search coil I’m a big fan of Calabash Digger’s videos. If you want an honest review of a metal detector check out this guys channel on YouTube and subscribe to him. If you are a ORX owner, what do you think? XP ORX Video: Depth Test and Performance Features. Like I mentioned earlier, if you are new to the XP brand and you don’t want to break the bank, then the ORX is the way to go. Either way you look at it, it was a smart move for XP and if they market the ORX correctly, XP should do pretty well but I don’t see a lot experienced Deus owners switching to the ORX. I think this was XPs way of trying to maintain or take some of the market share from Minelab. In my opinion, it looks like XP is trying to match or come down in price to compete with the Minelab Equinox. How Much Does The XP ORX Cost?Īs far as the price goes, the ORX is priced somewhere around the $899 price range which is really good for what you get. Both machines can use the X35 or HF coils, both machines integrate the MI-6 Pin-Pointer ( see my review of the MI-6), and both machines are still the lightest metal detectors on the planet! Either way, you can’t go wrong by purchasing one of these XP Detectors. Others new to the XP brand will appreciate the ORX and it’s simplicity.

I personally like all the configurations options the Deus offers but I’ve learned how to use them. As an experienced Deus owner, I wouldn’t trade in my Deus for the ORX. But the ORX still packs a punch and will hit the deep targets as you will see in the video below. In my opinion, the Deus will still have the upper advantage with all the configuration options.

To see the full list of ORX Specifications, XP has them listed on their website The ORX removes a lot of those options and really tries to make the ORX a “turn on and go” machine. I have heard many times from XP Deus owners (including myself) that the learning curve was difficult with all of the configuration options and settings because there are so many of them to learn. It appears to be much simpler to configure which will be appealing to new users. The other big difference is in the user interface. That is insane! The ORX Interface is Simple To Understand. The Deus is only 2 pounds which includes the remote. Plus, the ORX is almost 1 pound lighter than the Deus. I’ll be honest, I’m at the point now, using my Deus, that I really only tweak 2 or 3 programs so the ORX would be just fine for most users and the price is a lot cheaper than the Deus. My Thoughts on The Number of Programs and Weight.

However, you do have 2 slots for your own custom programs compared to the Deus which has 8. There are 2 additional programs for gold prospecting.
