What a string of vocals! I mean absolute emotional overload. That was followed by the Madonna Like A Prayer remix into Jana More Than Life. How its supposed to be.Īt some point Karissa Noel Corrupt came on and blew the roof off. It was hilarious watching this all go down. This went on for awhile as his friends cheered him on and it was at that moment that I realized there not going to be any rules that night. He was hanging on with his ankles and swinging upside down like a monkey on a jungle gym. As I started to get into the party I remember this guy across the dancefloor had somehow gotten his friends to hold him up in the air so that he could grab onto the steel I-beam support holding up the ceiling. I remember sitting and staring in total shock and awe and I watched this blatant display of drug use. They didnt call this venue the crack-shack for nothing. He casually put his jar away and walked out of the bathroom as if there was no chance of security coming. Enough to put a horse down for the count.

He dished out a massive stack of k on his wrist and blasted the whole thing. I remember at one point heading into the men's room on the dancefloor and seeing this juiced out (typical for this venue, proximity to New Jersey and you come to expect this type of clubber when you go out) musclehead standing in front of the mirror, posing and making sure he looked cool, within plain sight of the dancefloor. I was a bit frustrated with them but we had all taken the same vehicle to the trainstation so I had no choice.

My friends by now were blatantly wasted and I knew they werent going to last. We came down the steps into the main floor (famous staircase by the way), and warmed up with vodka and redbulls while JP dropped some Hex Hector and Whitney Houston classics. I think everyone including the staff was out to have a good night. We arrived at the door and the staff, to my surprise, treated us very kindly coming in the door.

As we walked out of Penn Station they were starting to pick up and during the cab ride, they went into full gear. Major lapse in judgement and a real rookie mistake. They had never been to NY clubbing before so they thought it would be like going out in philly (over by 2am). I advised them to wait but they didnt listen. My friends dropped while exiting the NJ Transit car. I arrived early with 2 clubbing oriented friends, and what later turned out to be a huge blunder on my part, 3 non clubber friends. It gives the sensation of reliving the night.Ī few stories about that night. But careful consideration was taken to give the crowd sounds proper timing. I believe these are microphone recordings taken from the dancefloor, edited, and layed over top of this cd. You can hear a few yeaaa johnny's in there as well as real crowd reactions when the tracks drop, or breakdown, or when an accapella is introduced. With that said, there are live microphone recordings from the dancefloor that night that classics party occurred. I was there for the first half of that party and heard many of the songs that are on this CD, but that night they were played in a different order. It wasnt on the level of Studio 54 but it was close based on some of things I saw there.įirst let me confirm that this cd is not a live recording from the night of the party. Sound Factory was the wildest club that I ever attended. Sound Factory was the epitome of New York club culture that existed right up until the point where Rudy Guiliani became mayor of NYC and killed the afterhours scene and successfully disbanded the eccentric club culture that existed in NYC. Jonathan Peters was the resident DJ at Sound Factory saturday nights from some time in the late 90's until 2004ish when Sound Factory closed its doors. Lets start with a little history on Jonathan because without that this cd wont be fully understood.

Its the best Jonathan Peters cd that he ever released, by far. This CD is something really special for former Factory heads.
